2024-06-19 Posters with practical information on application, storage and transportation of mineral fertilizers

The associations ANFFE (National Association of Fertilizer Manufacturers) and ACEFER (Spanish Commercial Association of Fertilizers), which represent manufacturers, marketers and distributors of fertilizers at a national level, have updated three digital posters on crucial topics in the management of mineral fertilizers:

- Rational Application of Fertilizers (enlace)

This poster is a practical guide that highlights the importance of always applying the right product, in the right amount, at the right time and place. It also includes information on the Royal Decree on Sustainable Nutrition in Agricultural Soils, the correct application of urea and the legislation regarding nitrate contamination from agricultural sources.

- Storage of solid fertilizers (enlace)

This poster provides practical information on the basic principles of storage of mineral fertilizers, with the aim of ensuring their quality and the safety of the people who handle them. It includes good handling practices, especially for ammonium nitrate-based fertilizers, which require additional specifications due to their particular characteristics. In addition, information is included on hazard pictograms according to the CLP Regulation, applicable legislation and guidelines for marketing in special cases.

- Road Transport of Fertilizers (enlace)

This poster details how to transport mineral fertilizers safely, preserving both product quality and worker safety. It also provides information on ADR and CLP.

Both associations consider it essential that farmers and all those involved in the storage and transport of fertilizers take into account the recommendations included in these posters.
